Adjustable Hinge Kits

The Airlines for America ATA103 specification update requires Lay Flat hydrant pit covers by the end of 2027. The 4 Mile Fueling team responded with an adjustable, robust, and cost­effective hinge designed for the realities of the ramp.

The design is simple by intention. Operators can switch between Lay Flat and Non-Lay Flat configurations in the field without any special tools or equipment. Moving the pins to the lower eye bolt holes sets the cover for Lay Flat operation, while the upper holes set it for Non-Lay Flat. The same hinge works across Hydrant, Low Point, and High Point pits, so one solution covers your entire fueling system.

The FM-24 Aircraft Load Rated, One-Hand-Lift Cover Assembly is sized to be retrofittable out of the box with most existing covers in the field. In many cases, an existing fuel hydrant pit cover only needs the HK-24 Hinge Kit, reusing the current cover and frame and delivering substantial savings compared to a new cover assembly.
